am no expert and i dont know if what im saying is facts but it seems to me that what the whale is doing is some kind of gesture thats saying "back off get out ma space" lol it might sound stupid but thats wot a think. so basically all these people continually goin up to the tank pointing and giggling and banging on the glass is tormenting the whale.

It might have been imitating them, cetaceans are virtually unmatched in their ability to mimic actions. Saw a funny face so it showed them it could do it too.
