las ballenas orcas en cautiverio mueren mas rapido que en su habitat natural, no vallan a espectaculos de estos porue asi estamos dejando que las personas sigan cazando ballena para espectaculos como estos

Its not really known, might be from swimming in circles, lack of exercise, too shallow pools or spending too much time at the surface. Happens with all male Orcas in captivity and some females too. Its also seen on wild Orcas but thats rather rare. Might have a genetic component, too.

Keiko was in some of the still shots for sure. I recognized certain photos. I also recognized Corky 2.

The were given the name Orca Orcinus which is Latin for "the bringer of death". This applied to the "transients" whale pods that were seen in early times of civilization and how the Orcas attacked whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals, walruses and other sea creatures for food. The "residents" usually stick to fish and squid based diets. So they were named correctly.
